Journey into Memory: Shapes and Colours

Journey into Memory: Shapes and Colours

Journey into Memory: Shapes and Colours unfolds as a visual narrative suspended between memory and matter. The work constructs a landscape that is evoked rather than represented: a sandy expanse crossed by the movement of the sea and a shifting sky, where light settles in layers of soft blues and warm sand tones.

The richly textured pictorial surface engages in dialogue with applied geometric elements that frame the scene like fragments of recollection. These irregular forms, resembling relics or shards of time, transform the frame into an integral part of the artwork, creating a balance between structure and spontaneity.

The contrast between the softness of the landscape and the solidity of the abstract forms generates a poetic tension: on one side the open horizon, symbol of contemplation and freedom; on the other, the fragmented structure of memory, which recomposes the past into signs and traces.

The work invites the gaze into an inner journey, where landscape becomes a place of the soul and colour preserves emotions sedimented over time.

A visual architecture of memory. The artist constructs the work in layered stages: the plywood support functions as a structural base for an assemblage combining painting and collage.

The central area — the “memory” — is painted with dense, luminous brushstrokes, while the surrounding perimeter is formed by rigid painted fragments applied to the surface, creating relief, shadows, and spatial rhythm.

The artwork requires no additional frame: it is conceived as a finished, sculptural object.
