Samak – Sculpture Vase “Aquarium” – Dar al Fannan
Samak – Sculpture Vase “Aquarium” – Dar al Fannan
A small aquarium shaped in ceramic.
Samak is a sculptural vase from the Dar al Fannan collection that brings marine life into the domestic space. Its name means “Fish”, and the piece captures the lively spirit of the underwater world: stylised fish glide among floating algae, immersed in soft gradations that shift from sandy tones to clear aquatic blues.
The form is distinctive and sculptural: a solid rectangular base with gently rounded edges, topped by a curved opening that recalls the crest of a wave or the fluid motion of water itself. The result is an object that conveys lightness, movement and quiet joy.
Entirely handcrafted and hand-painted, each vase is a unique piece. Lines, tonal transitions and decorative details may vary subtly from one example to another. The vase you receive will preserve the same aesthetic language, colour palette and artisanal quality shown in the images, while expressing its own individual character.
With its generous width and depth, Samak lends itself to multiple uses: as a refined catchall in an entrance hall, a vessel for small succulents, or simply as a marine-inspired sculptural accent on a sideboard or in a bathroom.
