The Center

The Center

In this composition, verticality asserts itself as a silent axis around which painted matter organizes and vibrates. Two presences emerge within the luminous field: one more rarefied and linear, the other denser and pulsating, built through layered chromatic depths shifting from plum to deep brown and pierced by sudden warm glimmers. Between them arises a subtle tension — an unstable balance suggesting attraction, distance, and dialogue.

The golden background, crossed by vertical veils, amplifies a sense of suspension and lends the work a luminous and meditative quality. Grey-silver areas at the margins introduce a visual pause, a threshold between presence and dissolution.

The Center thus becomes a symbolic place of convergence: a point of equilibrium between opposing forces, an inner space where energies meet and transform.

While complete in its autonomy, the work is conceived to dialogue with The Point and Two Points. Together they form the painterly trio The Four Seasons, a cycle exploring time as continuous transformation and the silent rhythm of natural change. Displayed individually, it evokes a moment of suspended balance; displayed together, the works reveal a visual continuity that echoes the cyclical flow of the seasons.

The composition develops along a strong vertical axis, where the “center” is not a geometric coordinate but a nucleus of material energy. The contrast between the warm yellow background and the deep plum tones of the central forms generates an immediate optical vibration. The layered surface, marked by sedimentations and scratches, reveals a physical and instinctive creative process.
